Birthday Week Day 6 {And A Sale}

In case you are just joining me this week, I have been celebrating my 24th birthday all week long! But never fear if you missed out on my Limited Time Freebies on Tuesday and Thursday*, because you can snag them today for 24% off at my TpT store all weekend long, along with the rest of the items in my store.

*Thursday's freebies are still available until noon (Pacific Standard Time) today because of my mix up yesterday. Grab them while you can! The Birthday Certificates and Banners!* Over!

Here are a few of my more popular items that you might want to grab at their discounted price:

I featured this craftivity previously when I used it for my fourth grade resource room group. The kids absolutely loved it I received so many compliments from fellow teachers when we put them up in the hall. Check out my post HERE from when I used them to see how it went.

I have always been a huge fan of dot markers, so when a teacher at my student teaching school mentioned she was looking for some Alphabet letters to use with Dot Markers, I whipped up two sets for her. (I say "whipped up" as if I didn't spend hours making these pages. ha!) They have been a huge hit and I am considering making similar sets for shapes and other dot marker related art.

This next set of products also came about because a fellow teacher needed them. I have to say, these two are my favorite products I've gotten to make so far. I am big fan of using real world objects in teaching rather than always having cutesy clip art, so I was very particular about the image I included in both activities. The response I have gotten about these products (both on TpT and in person at my school) have been very positive.

Apologies!

So long story short, I took a subbing position last minute this morning and forgot to set my freebie items to free. I tried to fix it on my cell phone during my lunch but apparently that didn't completely work.

*oops*

To make up for it, I will be leaving both products as free until noon tomorrow (1/31)! I apologize for the misunderstanding. It was a chaotic day to say the least. I'll summarize: I show up to substitute as a preschool Teacher, no lesson plans, no schedule, not a thing left for me, and the assistant called out sick at the last minute. Oh and it was my first day officially substituting.

If you missed out, get both products here:
Birthday Certificates - Spanish and English

Banner Clip Art - Set of 15

Birthday Week Day 5 {With Double Freebies}

Welcome to day five of my Birthday Week Celebration! Today I am sharing another limited time freebie with you all. If you head over to my TPT store you can download my set of Birthday Certificates free!

ALSO, I wanted to mention that if you are not currently a follower of my TpT store now would be the perfect time to start following. This weekend, on top of my sale, I will have a special something for TpT Followers only. This is your only warning ;)

This set includes 6 different designs and each design comes in both an English and Spanish version! I have also included a black and white version of each so that younger students can enjoy coloring them in themselves. The best part about this birthday certificate set is that you can print one whenever you need it!

The six designs include:
Very Hungry Caterpillar
(If You Give A) Mouse
R2D2 and C3PO Star Wars
Robot
Silly Cupcake
Adorable Penguin

As an added bonus, I have put all the banners I used for these certificates (along with a handful extra) together to create a second limited time freebie. These 15 Banners could be used to make your own coordinating birthday themed item or in other projects. The transparent backgrounds make them easy to layer over other graphics and backgrounds.

Both freebies are available until 10:00 PM (PST) today (Jan 30). After that point they will return to their original prices. If you download either of these freebies, all I ask is that you take a moment to comment or rate it once you've taken a look at the product. Remember, you won't be able to comment or rate after the item returns to full price!

Birthday Week Day 4 {Birthday Link-Up}

Today's post is all about birthdays in the classroom. Although my experience as a teacher may be limited, I wanted to share some of my plans for future classroom celebrations. I make a big deal out of my own birthday (hench the Birthday Week Celebration) and I cannot wait to share the same excitement over my students' birthdays.

Read on to check out some of the birthday themed fun I plan to use and then feel free to link up your ideas from your own classroom! I'd love to see some of those birthday posts I may have missed, awesome ideas you've been waiting to share, and you best birthday TpT products!

Here are few ideas I wanted to share!
Link up your ideas and then check back to see what others have to share!

During college, I did this activity in class and loved it. One person sits in from of a white board while the rest of the class fills the board with words and phrases to describe that student. I have been looking for a reason to try it out with my students and a birthday would be the perfect excuse. I bet this student felt like a million dollars when her class finished writing all these wonderful things about her!

Don't have a ton of time to dedicate to celebrating? How about giving the special student a chance to pick out a birthday themed book. Have a handful of birthday themed books that you keep separate from the rest of the class library and only pull out on birthdays. To add to the fun, keep the books in a large gift-bag, complete with colorful tissue paper. Make reading a present!

Birthday Themed Books:

And what about those students who were born in the summer?
No problem, half-birthdays can be just as much fun so no one misses out!

As the host of this linky, I kindly ask that you follow a few simple rules, as follows:
1. Follow my blog on bloglovin’ here!
2. Feel free to link up as many of your personal blog posts as you would as long as they have to do with celebrating birthdays in the classroom.
3. Make sure the link is to your specific post or product, not the main URL to your blog or shop. (So it's easy to find.)
4. Visit the link before you and show them some love!
5. Grab the party button, post it on your blog so others can share their ideas as well!
NOTE: This is not a typical reoccurring linky. Just a one time linky for now.

Birthday Week Day 3 {With a Forever Freebie}

Today's I'm revisiting a birthday themed freebie from my TPT store. My Crazy Birthday Straws have bee a huge hit with the kids all school year. I laminate the tags for durability because many of my students like to put them on the front of their binders and folders.

They are a quick and simple gift to give as a little something special to the birthday kiddos in your classroom. All you need are a pack of wavy straws (which can be found at most Dollar Tree stores) to go along with these bright and cheery tags!

If you download this freebie, all I ask is that you take a moment to comment or rate it once you've taken a look at the product.

Birthday Week Day 2 {With Limit Time Freebie}

Welcome to day two! Today I am sharing my first limited time freebie of the week. If you head over to my TPT store you can download this set of Birthday Digital Washi Tape. It includes 24 polka dotted, chevron-ed, striped, and sprinkled pieces of tapes.

I have absolutely loved the washi tape craze. I put washi tape on everything! My cell phone, laptop keyboard, jars, presents, cards, the list goes on and on...

These digital washi tape can be used just like regular washi tape. They are PNG files. The opacity has been reduced so that photos, backgrounds and graphics peeks through just like real washi tape. They can also be rotated and flipped.

This freebie is available until 10:30 PM (PST) today (Jan 27). After that point it will return to it's original price of $1.50. Sorry if you missed out! If you download this freebie, all I ask is that you take a moment to comment or rate it once you've taken a look at the product. Remember, you won't be able to comment or rate after the item returns to full price!

Great Educents Deal Worth Checking Out

How cool is Educents? I have seent his freebie floating around Facebook and wanted to make sure to share it with all of you. This freebie is especially perfect for all you iPad-toting-techie-teachers!

They have a Christian focus which might deter some, but in my opintion they are still worth getting while they are free. They normally run around $7 a piece so the savings is well worth the space on your hard drive!

To be honest, I skipped over it the first time because I do not yet own a tablet or such items. When I finally took a closer look, I HAD to download it becuase the topics are so interesting and unique. I mean, just look at some of the titles of these books:

SPACE SPACE SPACE Blue Diamond
Blue-Footed Booby
Cave Fish
Cicada Killing Wasp
Dung Beetle
MRSA
Velvet Ants
Zombie Fire Ants
Pufferfish
SPACE Quicksand
Rogue Waves
Slime Eels
Solar Max
Snow Rollers
Red Tides
Whirlpools
Vegetarian Spiders
Platypus

While you are over at Educents, make sure to check out thier current deals because there are a number of free ones available. I also recommend signing up for their emails so you never miss out on a deal!

Meet The Teacher Monday: 3 Things

Today I will be linking up with Trina from The Ordinary To Extraordinary Classroom for her 2nd edition of Meet the Teacher Monday. This week’s theme is Three Things.

1. Three Words to Describe Me:
Random, Creative, and Quiet

2. Three Things on My Bucket List:
Go to Disneyland (or World, I’m not picky).
Visit Japan (My brother lives there and I a still haven't even visited!)
Write and Illustrate a Children's Book

3. My favorite music genre and 3 favorite songs:
I’m not genre picky, I just like a good song that I can sing to and/or dance to. My music playlists often surprise people because they contain such a random mix.
My current top three song are:
Young Volcanoes - Fall Out Boy
Let It Go- Demi Lovato
Deep South- Cartel

4. The first 3 things I would buy first if I won the lottery:
New car for hubby, down payment on a townhouse, and a mac computer. But this list could go on and on...

5. My favorite movie genre and 3 favorite movies:
I shamelessly love children’s movies! My all-time favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas. My current favorite is Frozen (amazing music!!). 27 Dresses is also a long standing favorite.

6. Three Character Flaws:
I am can be a procrastinator, I worry even when it isn't necessary, and I get obsessive easily.

7. Three Friendship Personality Deal breakers:
The Compulsive Liar (or Compulsive Exaggerator),
The One-Upper (always has to be bigger, better, and brighter), and
the I'm-Too-Good-For-You-but-I'll-Grace-You-With-My-Friendship

8. Three Things I Want More of:
Money (I try not to be materialistic but let's be honest, I would not ming a few more dollars), Sunny Days, and Date Nights with Hubby

Tried It Tuesday: New Starbucks Via Latte & Mocha

I haven't joined in Fourth Grade Flipper for a Tried It Tuesday for a while but had a little something to share with my fellow coffee lovin' educators. This isn’t particularly educated related but I know many of you share a love for coffee like I do. Many of us are also very fond of Starbucks in particular.

Starbucks recently re-release their Starbuck Via Latte packs. If you’ve never seen these, they are single serve packets that you simply add water to and mix to instantly have your favorite coffee drink. They’re a brilliant idea. I’ve previously purchased Starbucks Via Coffee packets and love them. They are quick when I don’t have time for the Keurig and easy if I am on the go. Plus the instant coffee packets taste just as good at the fresh brewed coffee from Starbucks.

http://fourthgradeflipper.blogspot.com/2014/01/tried-it-tuesday-norwex.htmlSo when I saw the new Vanilla Latte and Café Mocha packets, I was ecstatic. Vanilla lattes are my go to favorite and the idea of having them whenever and wherever I want makes me giddy.

A 4-pack will cost you $6.95 but for a short time they are offereing single packs for just a dollar. Of course I snagged one of each flavor to try out becuase, hello, it's Starbuck!

Unfortunately, I wasted $2.

I’m a huge Starbucks fans so it’s sad to say it, but both flavors were terrible in my opinion. I couldn’t finish even a half cup of either. My thought is that it has to do with the fact that they are the first dairy Via released. They also lack seriously in the coffee flavor.

On a positive note, they do smell amazing. The vanilla one especially smells delicious, just doesn't match in taste.

For just a buck, I won't stop you from trying it yourself. This was just my own coffee-loving opinion. For now I will stick with my delicious (albeit pricey) handmade vanilla latte at my local Target Starbucks location.
