Weekly Summer Link-Up: Summer Goals

Hey there!
I'm linking up with Monica from I Heart Grade 3 for her Weekly Summer Link-Up!
This week's topic is:
I love this topic because I know that personally I am more motivated to reach my goals when I have shared them with others. It keeps me accountable. Since this list could probably go on for days and days, I am trying to focus on my top 3 goals for summer 2015.

I happen to be blessed with friends and family who support my children's book addiction (and a husband who never says no!).  Unfortunately (don't hate me for admitting it) my classroom library is not leveled and is barely even organized. It needs some real help. These are a few of my inspiration pins I have in mind for the overhaul.

I feel like simply saying "be a better blogger" is a bit of a cop-out for me so I am going to be more specific. I will make every intention to blog at least once a week this summer. Yep, I've put in ink (virtual ink) and you've witnessed it. I truly love blogging, even if it is mostly just for myself and I love the resources I discover and connections I make.

The first part of the school year I was tearing through books like crazy. Then grad school started and after finishing my weekly assigned readings, I could barely ready my lesson plans. Well, I will still be taking grad school courses over the summer but I hope to work back up to spending time to enjoy reading. Here are a few I wanna get to this summer:

Where They Found Her - Kimberly McCreight
Where'd You Go, Bernadette? - Maria Semple
The Girl on the Train - Paula Hawkins
Divergent - Veronica Roth
All the Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr

Definitely a full summer ahead for me!
What are your goals you'd like to accomplish in summer 2015?

  1. Hi Kayla!

Thanks so much for participating in my very first Linky! I love hearing from other teacher/bloggers/authors/homeschoolers/mommies just like you!

I fear that we share a common problem - my classroom library is not leveled yet either.... and it bothers me whenever I see my bookshelves completely messed up! I should have put that on my list of goals as well!

I look forward to having you link up again throughout the summer! Thanks again!

    1. Thanks for the heads up. I have avoided learning anything about the movies so that I can read through the books and then start watching them. Can't wait!

  4. My classroom library could use an overhaul too. I've a friend who used that file for her library and loves it! Good luck to you.
