Currently September 2014

It seems like forever since my last Currently post. With school starting tomorrow, it felt appropriate that I make today's Currently post a priority.

Anywho, here is my September Currently:

Listening
The husband has been out of town now since Friday visiting family in North Dakota. Which means for once the control of the TV is entirely mine, no compromise needed. I swear I'm cursed with finding good TV shows at the most unfortunate times. I am totally into Once Upon A Time right now. I have probably already watched a bit more of it than I should of, given that I have a million other things I could be doing. It's a curse, I'm telling you. Find a good TV show, and there goes all my free time.

Loving
As a little back to school gift for myself, I got an iPad mini. I was very lucky at my last school to have an iPad in my classroom and got accustomed to using it. Hubby and I decided it would be worth my while to get my own iPad for you stirring the school year, especially with some of the assessments coming up this fall. So far I am absolutely loving it. The absolute best part has been that I downloaded a font app I had been eyeing for quite a while: iFontMaker. Sooo addicting. Which means you should expect some fonts in my TpT store soon!

Thinking
Honestly I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I'm going to be teaching kindergarten starting Thursday! Not only that, but a kindergarten class that is completely my own. It's amazing and terrifying all at once. I'm not entirely sure how a first year teacher is suppose to feel, but I'm torn between having a panic attack and having a one-person-happy-dance party.

Wanting
Like I said, new iPad mini. I've downloaded a few apps already but I am on the lookout for others as well.

Needing
I previously started designing my own lesson planner when I thought I would be returning to integrated preschool this year. It's really hard to find a good preschool lesson planner when the programs are so vastly different. Well, I'm no longer returning to preschool and haven't quite got a clue about making a kindergarten lesson planner. For the sake of my sanity, I will likely be ordering my first Erin C teacher  planner. That means I have to go the first few weeks of school with out it unfortunately.  So I'll have to use the generic one our school gives us.

3 Trips
I have always adored the Japanese culture. I am not entirely sure where it comes from, but it probably has to do with my life long love of Hello Kitty. It kills me that my little brother has lived in Japan for two years now with the Navy and I haven't been able to visit.

Italy is one of those places everyone wants to visit. I have a few friends who are lucky enough to have traveled there and for some reason it's always stuck in my mind as a place I'd like to go.

Another place my brother's been able to travel multiple times and yet I've never set foot in, Australia. Kangaroos and didgeridoos, umm totally cool!

  1. Hi Kayla! I found your blog through Currently. I remember that feeling before starting my first year...very excited, yet terrified! It's definitely a year of growth and learning! Good luck with your first year!! :)

  2. Have fun in Kindergarten, you will love it! I was a long term sub in K before taking a full-time UPK job. I've really wanted to get into "Once Upon a Time" and I'm trying to talk the hubby into getting Netflix so I can watch them all!
